Recently our Honorable Minister, Shri Rajayevardan Singh Rathore hinted on reducing the syllabus of schools in india, by 50%, and introduction of sports as main part of the school curriculum.
Well, the idea seems to be a Win Win for everyone and the society. My personal opinion is that Instead of reducing the studies by 50% and introducing the rest percentage to sports, it should be a mix of vocational training courses and extra-curriculum activities to be part of it.
Reason is we should focus on the overall development of the children who will start earning in next decades or so.
For children of today to be ready for job of tomorrow whether be it Government or Private sector, they would need some special skills in order to prosper and earn bread and butter for their near and dear ones.
Vocational courses, and other skill development courses shall also be introduced in the overall syllabus of the students in schools as well as in colleges.
Nowadays, many avenues and career options are available which can help them earning every child a special spot in the society.
Music, Small scale industries, Start Ups, all these are the newer options available for children where they can really make their own mark and establish themselves as the prospering individual of the society. Not only this, they can contributed to the society in big way.
Vocational courses on writing for say, and public speaking can really help the children of today to be leaders of tomorrow!!
